A Cloud Forest is a tropical or subtropical, evergreen, montane, moist forest characterized by a persistent, frequent or seasonal low-level cloud cover, usually at the canopy level.

More than 3200 species of plants have been located in the Monteverde Cloud Forest -- almost as many as in the entire country of Canada!

More than 100 species of mammals: All five species of cats, tapirs, sloths and deer and a total of 1200 species of amphibians and reptiles!
